Recycle Nokia Phones with Mazuma Mobile

With the new Nokia N9 in the pipeline, it looks like Nokia may be in prime position to take back their smartphone crown from the Apple. According to recent figures from the International Data Corporation, Nokia has currently slipped below both Apple (18.5% share of the market) and Samsung (17.5%) to hold just 15.2% of a market they previously dominated with 40% as recently as a year ago. The mobile phone recycling experts, Mazuma Mobile, cite new handset model release times as being some of their busiest times of the year, with notable increases in smartphone recycling figures coinciding with the likes of the Nokia N900 release and iPhone4 release.
Nokia themselves are keen to encourage phone users to Recycle nokia phone, either using free-of-charge phone banks (usually located at supermarkets etc) or through companies like Mazuma Mobile, who offer cash for working (and some broken) mobile phones.
According to Mazuma Mobile, around 95% of the phones they receive are refurbished for re-sale in developing economies where they’re most needed. In Africa, for example, a new mobile phone is far out of the financial reach of the average citizen, to whom communication can mean the difference between life and death. Mazuma’s retail partners offer very cheap handsets to those in need, often helping in the survival of entire communities.
Still think that old Nokia N97 belongs in the back of a draw? Recycle ethically with Mazuma Mobile and make a small but significant difference in the world.
